380 members of the Almighty from Galaxies across the Universe entered our Solar System and landed on Earth on this night to assemble in Novotel Clark Quay Hotel for the celebration of SLS' 55th Anniversary with a Dinner and Dance party. Codeword “Super Heroes Night”.
Superman, The Incredible Hulk, Cat Woman, Joker, Flash, Wonder Women, Harley Quinn, Dragon Ball, and our very own Thor... (Mr. Roy Tan, CEO) The God of Thunder were few of the many incredible appearances that made their big debut at the event.
The night kicked-off with a spectacular array of LED water percussion by the LED Sexy Drummers from Drumtintin (fictional) of the outer rim Galaxy. Mesmerizing spectrum of colors illuminated the hall and iridescence cast upon the performers. It was a visually captivating and stunning performance shown through the roars of applause filling the hall.
Following the luminous performance, Thor, aka Roy Tan, the CEO of SLS Group addressed our heroes with a heart-warming opening speech.
The emcee wasted no time in getting the audience to warm up with her hilarious stage banters and ice-breaker games (choosing the leader by playing musical chair); everyone was in the mood to have loads of fun.
The most meaningful part of the night was the Sand Art Performance, showcasing the story of SLS, Central Engineering & Poh Leong Tractor. The fascinating performance by the sand artist showed the entire transformation of the company- how it grew bigger, better and stronger over the years, reflecting the continuous growth of SLS.
Staff also enjoyed the ‘FUN-tastic’ game challenge whereby groups members had to take two "wefies" with their respective groups, while the leaders had to take a selfie with the CEO.
The nominees for "Best Dressed" were asked to deliver an impromptu performance based on the character they dressed up as. All nominees were good sports, showcasing their talent in areas such as singing, dancing and sword fighting. Their performances garnered lots of laughter from the crowd, right before the Best Dressed 2018 winner was crowned.
Laughter continued when the second group of lucky draw winners for the 4th to 10th place were announced. The winners put on a brave face and performed a short winning dance for the crowd before leaving the stage.
A rollicking affair, the night went by with everyone having plenty of fun. It was an occasion that perfectly captures the SLS spirit- that not only does SLS work hard, they play hard as well. Indeed, the staff are Super Heroes to the company and they all deserve to be rewarded for being a part of the Super Hero family. Drawing to the end of the event, everyone played along as they stood on their feet and danced around the ballroom together.
There were many attractive prizes won throughout the night, ranging from gift vouchers to smart phones and tablets, thanks to our generous sponsors including our partners Timken, Schaeffler, Optibelt and Rexnord, our freight forwarders, transport providers and the banker. Without a doubt, everyone was enthralled by the top 3 prizes: An OSIM Massage chair, an iPhone X and a Samsung Galaxy.
The night drew to a close with Mr. Roy presenting the top three prizes to our lucky draw winners.
The entire celebration was embraced with hearty guffaws reverberating the room. Undeniably, ties between each department and their teams strengthen and strong bonds further deepened, which marks this year’s D&D an indelible memorable and unforgettable milestone for SLS Singapore.
All in all, it was an action-packed night filled with scrumptious food, enchanting performances and endless laughter.
